Accounts payable

is temporary attracted money by organizations that repayable to corresponding legal and natural persons (creditors).

Accounts receivable

is a debt sum payable to organizations by legal and natural persons (debitors) that is formed as a result of economic relations between them.

Activity of insurance companies

Indicators are presented according to data submitted by the CB of RA.

Age-specific fertility rates

characterize average annual fertility level of women for each age group. Fertility rates are calculated as a ratio of number of births to women of a given age group during a calendar year to the midyear female population of a given age (by current estimates). While calculating fertility rate for age group under 20 years old, the denominator includes female at the age of 15-19 years old. While calculating fertility rate for the age group of 15-49 years old, numerator contains all births including births to women under 15 years old and at the age of 50 and over.

Agricultural lands

are the lands used to produce agricultural products. They comprise lands under permanent crops (perennial crops), arable lands, hayfields, pastures and other lands.

Allocation of primary income account

the second component of the primary distribution of income account. It shows how primary income obtained from the production activity and property is distributed among residents (institutional units or sectors).

Analysis of formal and informal employment

is based on the number of jobs (in both the primary and second jobs) and not the number of employed persons. Therefore, the total employment by job nature (formal-informal) will have larger quantitative expression than the total number of workers. Informal employment comprised the total number of informal jobs, whether carried out in formal sector enterprises, informal sector enterprises, or households, during a given reference period. Informal employment includes: (1) employees holding informal jobs (including paid domestic workers), (2) employers and own-account workers having informal sector enterprises, (3) all contributing (unpaid) family workers, (4) members of informal producers’ cooperatives, and (5) producers of goods exclusively for own final use by their household (if considered employed). As informal employed were considered also contributing (unpaid) family workers engaged in household production for own final use if their production represents an important contribution to the total consumption of the household.

Arable lands

are the lands used under agricultural crops, including those under perennial grass, and also fallow lands.

Average monthly nominal wages/ salaries

per employee are calculated through dividing total labour remuneration fund, both in cash and in kind, by the average number of wage-earners, and by the number of months in the reference period.

Average price

of the type of goods is calculated as a mean arithmetical (consumer price index) of prices recorded for the given type of goods. Average (weighted) price for the group of products is calculated as a sum of values on products divided by the sum of their number (producers' price index).

Average size of assigned monthly pension (social benefit)

is calculated as ratio of the sum total of the monthly pensions (social benefits) of all pensioners (benefit recipients), registered in the agencies of labour and social protection, to the number of those receiving pensions.

Balance of primary incomes

characterizes incomes receivable by institutional units as a result of their participation in production or from property. It is defined as the difference between all primary incomes receivable and payable by resident units. At the level of the total economy the balance of primary incomes calculated gross, i.e. before deduction of consumption of fixed capital, is equal to Gross National Income.

Base organization

is a representative unit for observation.

Base organization In the consumer sector

an organization of trade and service sphere, where consumer prices and tariffs for services are recorded based on the formed quantity of goods (services).

Base organization In the production section

a base organization, where information on prices for the organization's produced products is collected by the statistical bodies.

Base price index

is calculated as a ratio of current price to the price of the period, which was considered as basic. Base index could be calculated by using the weights of the period, which considered as basic, as well as by multiplying the chain indices. The latter is possible to use if there were no significant structural movements over the contiguous periods.

Basic price

is the amount receivable by the producer for a unit of product excluding any taxes on products and imports, but including subsidies on products and imports.

Budget deficit

the value of expenditure exceeding over the income.

Budget expenses

are the funds directed to tasks and operations of state and local self -governmental bodies of financial provisions.

Budget revenues

are non-repayable funds of state and local self-governmental bodies in compliance with law.

Budget surplus

is the value of income exceeding over the expenditure.

Call deposits

assets kept by bank and not subject to withdrawal for implementation of any transaction.

Capital assets

are the buildings, constructions, machines and equipments (working and power machines and equipments, dimension (measuring) and regulation devices and apparatus, laboratory equipments, computers), transportation means and other types of capital assets. The capital assets include also all capital assets of organizations of the state and private sectors, as well as the capital assets allocated to the physical persons by proprietary right. These assets include residental dwellings, capital assets of personal subsidiary economies of the population, as well as economic buildings of peasant farms. The indicator of capital assets exploitation includes the value of organizations, buildings and constructions with completed construction and putted into operation, as well as value of newly exploited machines, all types of transport means,equipments (installed and not installed, included and excluded from the construction estimates), cost of tools, inventary, etc. which are registered in the capital assets, cost of works on land irrigation and drainage, capital expenses on land quality improvement and other expenses related with the increase of cost of assets.

Capital transfers

are defined as free transfers of ownership of capital assets (other than inventories and cash) from one institutional unit to another, transfers in cash to be used by the recipient for acquisition of capital assets. Capital transfers are usually nonrecurring and considerable in value transactions connected with acquisitions or disposals of assets by participants in the transaction. They include taxes on capital, investment grants, and other capital transfers.

Changes in inventories

comprise changes in productive stocks of semi-finished and finished products, and products for resale. The value of changes in inventories during a given accounting period is equal to the difference between the value of inventories at the end and at the beginning of the year, measured at average market prices of the period in order to eliminate the influence of prices.

Colleges

are included into middle vocational educational institutions. Colleges provide advanced middle vocational education including subjects of general and preliminary educational programmes.

Communication

Production and broadcasting of radio and television programs includs the activity related to radio and television programs, news, entertainment programs, debates, and other similar programs or activity related to broadcasting of finished radio and television programs, which are acquired by dissemination rights, as well as data transfer by Internet, usually when it is done in the radio and television broadcasting system. Telecommunication’s activity includes transmission of voice, data, texts, records, images and rendering of services related to them. The given services are rendered through wire, wireless and satelite telecomunication systems.

Compensation of employees

is defined as remuneration, in cash or in kind, payable to employees for work done during the accounting period. Compensation of employees is recorded on the basis of gross amounts and includes contributions to social insurance schemes, income tax deductions, and other payments, payable by employees, even if these are actually deducted by administration and paid directly to social insurance funds, tax services or any other institutions on behalf of the employees.

Composition of the convicted

means their distribution by sex, age, imposed penalties, types of committed crimes.

Consolidated budget of RA

consists of state budget and regional budgets (with out interbudgetary transfers).

Consumer price index (CPI)

measures changes both over the time and the space in the value of actual fixed quantity of the goods purchased for population’s personal use and services. In the Republic of Armenia,for the calculation of consumer price index, monthly consumer price (tariff) monitoring is conducted according to the determined methodology in Yerevan city and 10 marzes (regions) of the republic

Consumer price index

is one of the important indicators of inflation (it is a main indicator characterizing inflation in RA). CPI characterizes changes both over the time and the space in the value of actual fixed quantity of the goods purchased for population’s personal use and services. In RA, CPA is calculated compared to the different periods – previous month, December of the previous year, reference period of the previous year, reference month of the previous year and base year. CPI is also calculated by Yerevan city and 10 observed settlements, where monthly price observations are conducted.

Convicts

are persons on whom sentences have been passed and have came into legal force.

Crave and special grave crime

is a deliberate act, representing a most danger for society defined by the RA Crime Code.

Credit investments

represent balance of loans allotted to economy by banking system. Credit investments are divided into short-term (allotted for a period less than one year) and long-term (allotted for a period more than one year).

Crime

is a socio-legal phenomenon comprising crimes commited on specific territory during specific period of time and having qualitative and quantitave measures.

Current price

is the price recorded in the base organization in the observation time for certain period.

Current price index

is a ratio of prices in current period to the prices in the previous period and is a relative value over time with regard to the price changes.

Current transfers

include the folowing main tips: current taxes on income, and property, etc.; social security contributions and benefits; voluntary payments and gifts without capital character, fines, etc.

Disabled person

is the person who needs caring for and protection in connection with restriction of vital activity in consequence of physical or medical deterioration. Restriction of vital activity finds its expression in full or partial loss of ability to move, to orient, to communicate, to control the behavior as well as loss of working ability.

Disposable income

is defined as income left at institutional units` disposal for final consumption and saving, it is equal to the Gross National Income less income payable as current transfers plus current transfers receivable.

Economic activity rate

is the share of economically active population among work- ing age population.

Economically active population

includes all employed and unemployed population, who develop labour market (related to labour force supply) for production of goods and services.

Economically inactive population

covеrs persons, who was not either employed or unemployed in the reference period.

Eggs production

covers eggs gathered during a year from all kinds of poultry, including those used for incubation, production of egg powder and other purposes.

Employed

are persons who during the reference week: • worked on paid basis or were self-employed, regardless of whether the job was permanent, temporary or seasonal, one-off, or casual, even if that job was for only one hour during the reference week, • were temporarily absent from work for various reasons; • were engaged in household or farming activities, while the production was intended for full or partial sale or exclusively for own final use, provided that the production had a significant share in household consumption.

Employment rate

is the share of employed population among working age population.

External public debt

consists of credits provided to the government ant to Central Bank of RA by international organizations and foreign states, as well as of credits provided against guarantee of government and Central Bank of RA

Fellings of forests of main use and reforestation fellings

are carried out in mature forests for procurement of timber.

Final consumption expenditures

consist of final consumption expenditures of households, general government final consumption expenditures on individual goods and services and collective services, and also final consumption expenditures of non-profit institutions serving households. Such grouping shows which sector pays for final consumption.

Final consumption expenditures of households

include outlays for purchasing consumer goods and services from all trading enterprises and market-places, and through non-organized trade (street vendors), from public utility service, passenger transport, communications establishments, hotels, commercial institutions of culture, health care, education, and also other consumption of goods and services in kind, produced for own use (agricultural produce of personal subsidiary plots, imputed services of owner-occupied dwellings), and received as labor remuneration.

Final consumption expenditures of non-profit institutions serving households

are outlays of non-commercial organizations on consumer goods and services provided free of charge to households are also included here. The services provided free of charge by organisations to their employees on education, health care and e. t. c.

First registration of disability

means determination of physical disability for the first time in current year. Caretaking institutions for elderly and disabled people and child care institutions is a medico social institution intended for permanent residence of disabled, child and aged people who need caring for and medical service.

Fixed deposits

deposits drawn up in banks for determined period.

Foreign trade price index

characterizes changes in the export and import value in the conditions of unchangeable and constant physical volume at the expense of changes in prices for the goods in foreign trade.

Forest area

is a part of forest covered territory of Armenia as well as territory not covered by forest, but used for forestry needs. Forest stock includes forest area, i.e. forest covered territory (actually covered by plantations of trees) and territory not covered by forest but intended for forestation (burnt out areas, cutting areas, waste grounds, glades, areas of dead plantations). Besides, forest stock includes non-forest areas: agricultural lands (hayfields, pastures, arable land), special purpose areas (roads, ditches, country estates etc.), and also swamps, sands, ravines, steep hillsides and other territories.

Forest content

ratio of forest covered territory to the whole territory of the republic.

Forest management

is the system of activities comprising demarcation, division of forests into plots, groups and categories (water protection forests, sanitary forests, etc); inventories of forest resources (forest area and timber stocks); estimation of the size of annual felling area; reforestation and other activities.

Freight tariff index

characterizes changes in tariffs for freights by several kinds of transport over time. It is aggregated through the tariff indexes calculated for freight transportation by the 4 kinds of transport operating in the republic – road, railway, air and pipeline.

Freight transportation

Volume of freights shipped covers the number of freights actually shipred, taking into account the weight of package or container.

Freight turnover in ton/km

is defined as a sum produced by multiplying the weight of each consignment of freight in tons by the length of its transportation.

GDP deflator index

is the ratio of GDP at current prices to GDP at comparable prices of the previous period.

General government final consumption expenditures on collective services

This category is different from the previous one since it includes services rendered by organizations which are compensated from the State budget; such services meet needs of community as a whole, but not of individual households.

General government final consumption expenditures on individual goods and services

consist of outlays of government institutions on consumer goods and services intended for personal consumption. Such outlays are funded from the State budget and extra-budgetary funds.

General purpose transport

implements carriages of the sections of economy industries and population, as well as thepassengers of general purpose route.

General schools

are primary, basic, senior and general education institutions and gymnasiums, which implement general educational programms.

Generation of income account

is a constituent element of primary distribution of income accounts. It reflects primary incomes payable by resident institutional units directly engaged in the process of production of goods and services.

Goods (service) - representative goods (service)

concept characterizes the whole totality of types of certain goods (services). They could differ from each other by insignificant properties (components), which don’t impact on the quality of goods (services) and main consumer properties and should be homogeneous in their consumer importance. In RA for each settlements such kind of goods (services) are selected, which, in their qualitative properties, correspond to the nomenclature of the types of goods selected for the republic in general, to their technical characteristics, however, absolutely do not correspond to the similar type of goods in another settlement.

Goods and services account

is a special summary table. Like all other accounts, it consists of two parts: on the resources side the output and imports of goods and services, taxes on products, subsidies on products are recorded on the uses side consumer expenditures (intermediate and final) on goods and services, gross fixed capital formation, changes in inventories, and exports of goods and services are recorded.

Gross (or net) operating surplus of the economy

is the part value added which remains with producers after deducting outlays related to the remuneration of employees and taxes on production. The terms “gross” and “net” in this case show if this indicator includes or excludes consumption of fixed capital in the process of production. The income created by “unincorporated enterprises” owned by households is called “Gross mixed income”, because it reflects both remuneration of work done by the owner of enterprise and entrepreneurial income.

Gross agricultural output

is the volue of produced outputs of plant-growing and husbandry in cash. For calculation of the physical volume of agricultural output, the indicator of its volume is used in comparable prices.

Gross Domestic Product

(GDP), The key indicator of the SNA, which characterizes the value of goods and services produced in the economy of a country and is intended for final consumption, capital formation and net exports. GDP is calculated by three methods: from the production side, from the use side, and through sources of incomes. GDP calculated with the production method is the difference between the output of goods and services for the whole economy and intermediate consumption plus net taxes (less subsidies) on products. GDP from the use side is defined as the sum of expenditures on final consumption of goods and services, gross capital formation, and net export. The method of constructing GDP through sources of incomes is one of the three methods used by the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia to calculate GDP within the SNA. But it is not independent because not all indicators of incomes can be measured directly and some of them are calculated with the balance method. The calculation of GDP through sources of incomes reflects primary incomes receivable by entities directly involved in the process of production, as well as by general government and non-profit institutions serving households. The gross operating surplus (gross mixed income) is a balancing item, which is defined as the difference between the GDP, at market prices, calculated by the production method and compensation of employees and net taxes on production and imports. This method is used by the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia only to analyze the value structure of GDP, but not to determine its nominal volume or changes.

Gross fixed capital formation

is defined as resident units` investments in fixed assets with the purpose of using these to create new incomes in the future.

Gross mixed income

surplus accruing from the processes of production by unincorporated enterprises owned by households and it reflects both the remuneration of work done by the owner of enterprise and the entrepreneurial income.

Gross National Disposable Income

is equal to the sum of disposable incomes of all resident institutional units

Gross value added

is calculated at the level of economic activities as the value of output of goods and services less the value of intermediate consumption. The term “Gross” means, that the value added includes the value of fixed capital consumed in the process of production.

Gymnasiums and lyceums

are included into general education schools which provide main and additional general education programmes. The education programmes of gymnasiums comprise deep profile differential tuition of pupils; lyceums provide training in relevant fields of specialization of senior level pupils.

Harmful substances emitted into atmosphere by stationary sources

include total amount of all contaminants coming to air basin both after treatment at dust-arresting (gas-cleaning) plants (as a result of insufficient capture and treatment) and without treatment (contaminats from organized and non-organized sources).

Hayfields

are the lands used for haymaking.

Higher education

is provided in two-stage sistems: Bachelor and Master Programmes at the state and non-state education institutions, in the forms of available education and tuition by correspondence in free and paid basis.

Higher education institutions

are the universities and other educational institutions carring out higher training programs.

Households farms

include personal households, gardening companies members’ peasant farms and urban population engaged in agriculture.

Housing stock

can be defined as a totality of all dwellings irrespective of the form of ownership. It includes dwelling houses, specialized houses (hostels, specialized houses for single and aged, childrens’ homes, boarding-houses for invalids, veterans, school-hostels and boarding- schools), flats, official dwelling rooms and other premises in other buildings suitable for living. Country houses (dachyas), summer garden houses, sport and tourist centres, motels, camping-sites, sanatoria, rest homes, holiday hotels, guest houses, hotels, barracks, cells, railway coaches and other premises intended for rest, seasonal and temporary residence irrespective of duration of living in them are not included in the housing stock.

Index of real wages/salaries

is calculated as ratio of the index of average monthly nominal wages/salaries by consumer price index. Both indices should refer to one and the same period. Average size of assigned monthly pension (social benefit) is calculated as ratio of the sum total of the monthly pensions (social benefits) of all pensioners (benefit recipients), registered in the agencies of labour and social protection, to the number of those receiving pensions.

Indicators of organizations activity

contains the structure of expenditors on manufacture and sales of products (goods and services) and status of calculation of large and medium-size commercial organizations of RA covered in the statistical monitoring of National Statistical Service of RA. Data collection is implemented on the basis of state statistical reporting forms. Indicators are classified according to the classification of types of economic activities (NACE (rev.2))

Individual price index

is the ratio of the price of a specific product in one period to the price of the same product in the base period.

Industrial output production in physical volume index

characterizes changes in the dynamics of the volume of industrial production in value terms. It is calculated through comparison of outputs. Products are valued at the comparable prices based on producer price indices . The prices of previous year are taken as a weight.

Industrial output production in kind

as a rule is represented by gross output, including goods used for own needs within an organization and prodused from the customer’s raw material

Informal employment rate

is the share of employed holding informal jobs among total employment (total jobs).

Information about the vital events including births, deaths, marriages and divorces

is processed based on the annual statistical data which contain the records on births, deaths, marriages and divorces filled in by the regional civil Regestration Bodies of the RA Ministry of justice. Only live-births are included in the number of births.

Insurance payment

is the sum to be paid by insurer to insurant or beneficiary for real damage and loss due to insured accident foreseen in the insurance contract.

Insurance reserves

funds formed from insurance contributions for live and other insurance obligations implementation purposes. Financial indicators of organizations, solvency, composition of assets, sources of their formation, as well as coefficients calculated on their basis published in the statistical handbooks of the previous years are not available in this publication. This is due to the fact that NSS stopped collection of information by the 1F and 2F state statistical statements.

Intermediate consumption

is equal to the value if goods and services transformed or consumed in the current process of production. The intermediate consumption does not include consumption of fixed capital. Intermediate consumption also covers financial intermediation services indirectly measured.

Juvenile crimes

is criminal attempts committed by adolescents aged from 14 go 18.

Labour remuneration fund

includes: a) direct wages/salaries, including any premium pay, additional payment, rise b) remuneration for time not worked, provided by legislation c) bonuses and gratuities d) food, dwelling, fuel and other payments in kind. Average wage/salary indicatore by types of econiomic activity is presented according to NACE rev. 2.

Labour resources (working age popu- lation)

are the sum of all economically active and non-active population.

Libraries

cover libraries with universal book stocks serving demands of the public for publications.

Life expectancy at birth

Average number of years that a member of a cohort of births would be expected to live if the cohort were subject to the mortality conditions expressed by a particular set of age specific mortality rates.

Livestock number

as of 1st January is estimated based on annual enumerations of livestock and covers all age groups of the enumerated livestock.

Main indicators of money and credit and banking systems

Central Bank of RA submits the data.

Maintenance fellings

are carried out in the process of growing and maturing of plantations. It supposes cutting down of selected trees and bushes to secure better conditions of growth for other trees.

Medical institutions rendering out-patient services to the population

include all medical institutions which provide the out-patient services (polyclinics, out-patient clinics, dispensaries, out-patient departments of the hospitals, health centres, etc.).

Milk output

is measured irrespective of whether it was sold or consumed by the farms for feeding calves or piglets. Milk consumed by sucking calves is excluded from total output and is not recorded while estimating average milk yield per cow.

Monetary base

represents the volume of cash outside of Central Bank of RA, obligatory reserves of commercial banks in Central Bank of RA and deposits of non-bank organizations. Monetary base – is the sum of net internal and external assets.

Money supply

represents cash in circulation and all dram and foreign currency deposits of domestic economy (population, enterprises and public organizations) in banking system.Monetary aggregates – are the indicators of money supply.

Morbidity rate

is calculated as ratio of number of patients with the diagnosis set for the first time to the average annual number of resident population. International Classification of diseases is used for statistical compilation of data.

Motor vehicle trade

includes both sale of motor vehicles, related parts and accessories, and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles via specialised trade units

Natural growth

is the difference between live births and deaths in a certain year.

Natural national parks

are the territories for protection of natural complexes having ecologic, historic, aesthetic value in favorable combination with natural and cultural lands capes, they are used for rest,educational scientific purposes.

Nature reserves

are the special territories typical for geographic zone, which are excluded from economic use to protect and study the nature. The purpose of nature reserves is the restoration of valuable animals and plants.

Net exports

are defined as the difference between exports and imports of goods and services.

Net external assets

difference between external assets and external liabilities, as a result of relations of Central Bank of RA and banking system with non-residents.

Net internal assets

domestic economy requirements of Central Bank of RA and banking system. Main sectors of domestic economy for Central Bank are – government of RA and commercial banks, for all banking system – Government and real sector. Requirements for other sector of economy are included in net other assets. Liabilities to government are deducted from requirements.

Net lending (+) or net borrowing (-)

is defined as the excess or deficit of sources of funds over the expenditures on non-financial assets. At the level of the economy, net lending or net borrowing shows the value of resources paid to “the rest of the world” and received from “the rest of the world”.

Net taxes on production and imports

include taxes on products and imports and other taxes on production. The term “Net” means that taxes are shown excluding related subsidies.

Nominal wages/salaries

are gross remuneration of employee, taking into account taxes and other deduction defined by the RA legislation.

Non wage-earners

are those who ensure income by own work (employers, own-account workers, contributing family workers and members of producers cooperatives).

Non-general purpose transport

implements freights transportation of the given organization (for road transport by road transport vehicles for railway transport-by sidings of non-general use), as well as the transportation of employees of the given organization by road transport (intra-economic and official transport). Main indicators of general purpose transport are volume of freights shipped (tons), freight turnover (tons-kilometers), volume of passengers carried (passenger) and passenger turnover (passengers-kilometers).

Non-state educational institutions

(schools, middle vocational,higher educational institutions) include registration of private educational institutions with license.

Offenders

are persons officially registered by Police RA by the Goverment of RA , against whom criminal cases were initiated.

Other taxes on production

consist of all taxes, except taxes on products, payable by enterprises in connection with their participation in the production process. The rates of these taxes do not directly depend on the volume and profitability of production. They do not include taxes on profit or on other incomes of enterprises. Other taxes on production include: taxes on use of natural resources (environment tax), payments for land (land tax), licenses, state duties and levies payable by enterprises and organizations, real estate tax, e. t. c.

Output

is the value of goods and services produced in the economy during the reported year.

Output of animal husbandry

includes the value of raising and keeping livestock, poultry and other animals, as well as production of milk, eggs, honey, etc.

Output of plant-growing

includes the value of materials produced while harvesting in the current year, the value of young perennial plantations, and changes in the value of work-in-progress for the current year (from the beginning to the end of the year).

Passenger turnover (passenger-kilometer)

is defined by multiplying the number of passengers carried by average distance per passenger. The volume of passenger transportation of road transport (number of passengers carried) and passenger turnover are defined by separate kinds of communication- intraurban, intraregional, interregional and international.

Pastures

are the lands under natural or sown grass used for grazing, but not for haymaking.

Personal crime

is crime against life, health, freedom, honor, dignity, sexual immunity, constitutional rights and freedom, as well as family.

Polluted waste water

represents the run-offs discharged into surface water bodies without treatment (or after insufficient treatment),with pollutants’ content exceeding the agreed MPD.

Population break down

in the urban and rural population is considered by their place of residence: urban settlements are considered those determined the status by law. All other settlements are considered rural.

Population current registration data

Principles of valuation

In the SNA, valuation at current prices is made by prices actually used in transactions. Production and use of GDP are valued at the current market prices, which are prevalent in the period of produce production and use. In order to eliminate the influence of various taxes and subsidies in different economic activities of the economy on the structure of production and generation of income, indicators by industries are valued at basic prices.

Procurement price index for agricultural production means

characterizes dynamics of changes in procurement prices for production means in the reference period compared to the base one.

Producer’s price index for industrial product

characterizes price changes over time for the product produced by the industrial organizations (excluding VAT and excise tax).

Production account

records transactions directly linked to the production process. In this account the value added is defined, which serves as a basis for calculating the Gross Domestic Product.

Property incomes

include incomes receivable or payable by institutional units in return for putting the financial assets, land, and other non-financial assets (minerals, other natural resources, patents, licenses, etc) at the disposal of other institutional units.

Purchasing Power Parity

is the number of units of currencies necessary to purchase some quantity of goods and services, which could be purchased as 1 unit of base country's currency.

Real wages/salaries

show quantity of goods and volume of services, which is possible to buy with wages/salaries of the reference period compared to consumer prices of base period. Real wages/salaries are calculated as ratio of nominal wages of the reference period to the consumer price index of the same period.

Recorded crime

is officially registered socially dangerous act, defined by the RA criminal legislation. Personal crime is crime against life, health, freedom, honour,dignity, sexual immunity, constitutional rights and freedom, as well as family.

Reforestation

comprises activities aimed at restoration of forests on cutting areas, burnt out areas, waste grounds, glades and other former forest lands. Reforestation includes planting, sowing and measures promoting natural renewal of forests.

Revaluation at comparable prices (of previous year)

is made for GDP from the production and use side. The indicators of the production of GDP are revaluated at comparable prices with the double deflation method where the value added at comparable prices is the difference between the value of output and the value of intermediate consumption at comparable prices. Revaluation of output and intermediate consumption at comparable prices is made by two methods: • deflation of data at current prices for the accounting period with corresponding price indices. • extrapolation of data at current prices for the base year with real volume indices or quantum indices. To revaluate the indicators of use of GDP at constant prices, relevant price indices (consumer price index, capital investments price index, etc.) and physical indicators were applied.

Sale price index for agricultural product producer

characterizes price changes for the products sold through all channels of the agricultural product producer both over time and space. It is calculated through the aggregation method by the plant growing and cattle-breeding products and marzes of the republic.

Sales of livestock and poultry

(meat output) include all types of livestock and poultry slaughter sold to the state, in market, through own trading network , exchanged as barter, own consumption and etc.

Satellite communication service

includes maintence and operation facilities ensuring satellite communication for sound, data, texts, records, images delivery or providing opportunity for using it, immediate transfer to consumers of audio and video TV programmes obtaining from TV channels and TV stations, as well as providing opportunity for access to Internet from operator supporting satellite communication.

Scientific institutions

regardless of their branch identity are engaged in research activities including fundamental and applied researches and developments in all branches of science, and also in rendering scientific and technical services. Sown area

is allocated among crops based on the economic use of their yield. The adjusted area is measured by adding up the area under safe winter crops, the area sown to spring crops.

Specialists engaged in research and design and technological works cover specialists with higher and middle vocational education

(including post-graduates) who are directly involved in performing research and technical works, and also heads of research institutions and subdivisions involed in research activities. State budget deficit

The capital account

shows the funding of gross fixed capital formation and change in inventories, including the redistribution of wealth among the sector of the economy and the rest of the world through capital transfers. The main source for financing capital transactions is saving, which is brought forward from the use of income account. The other sources of funding these transactions are capital transfers receivable less payable. The balancing item of the account is net lending (+) or net borrowing (-).

Total area of dwelling houses

is determined as the sum of the areas of living and auxiliary rooms of the flat (kitchens, anterooms, intra-flat corridors, bathrooms or shower rooms, toilet rooms, store-roomsor built-in closets as well as attics, mezzanines, verandahs which are heated and fit for living). In the hostels the cultural-communal rooms and medical service rooms (isolators) are referred to auxiliary rooms in addition to the rooms mentioned above. The following places are not included in the total area of dwelling houses: - staircases, lift halls, non-heated common corridors, vestibules, galleries, balconies, loggias, attics and mezzanines; - non-living rooms occupied by housing-maintenance organizations, shops, polyclinics, drug-stores, savings-banks, post-offices, children’s institutions, enterprises rendering personal services etc.

Total floor space of dwelling-houses

consists of actual living spaces and subsidiary spaces. The floor space of dwelling- houses and hostels as well as non-residential premises having apartments include space occupied by dinning-rooms, bed rooms, rooms for children and other living spaces indide the apartments.The living space of hostels includes only the space occupyed by bed rooms and rooms for the day-time stay. Subsidiary spaces of dwelling houses, hostels and non residential houses are considered kitchen, corridors, toilets, bathrooms, cloak rooms, storage, built-in closets in the dwelling. In the hostels, besides the above-mentioned spaces, the spaces of cultural and everyday and medical services are also considered subsidiary spaces. The verandas, lodges, long-form balconies are considered subsidiary spaces, if they are foreseen according to the technical and economic indicators of the project. The floor spaces of halls, tambours, staircases, common corridors, as well as the floor spaces of non-residential premises close to dwellings are not included in the total actual living space.

Total land area

is the land area including internal waters within the State border.

Total number of paramedical personnel

includes the persons with the secondary medical education (except for the dentists), who are engaged in the medical treatment, sanitary organizations, social security institutions, pre-school institutions, schools, children’s homes, etc.)

Total number of the physicians

includes all physicians with the higher medical education by the end of the year engaged in the medical treatment and sanitary organizations, social security institutions, scientific-research institutions, personnel training institutions, in the apparatus of the public health bodies and others. This indicator takes into account both the stomatologists with the complete higher education and dentists with the secondary specialized education.

Total population number

Data on the age and sex structure of population are based on estimates of de jure population covering permanent residents of this given territory, including temporary absentees at the census date.

Total stock of timber

the sun of growing part of timber, felling and intermediate use stock.

In accordance with the RA existing legislaton-unemployed (officially registered) consist of capable and able-bodied jobless citizens who not receive pension established by legislation (excluding for pensions appointed at loss of the bread-winner), with the purpose of job placement are taken on the account in state service of employment, are ready to start to work and have received the status of the unemployed.

is the share of unemployed among the economically active population.

Use of disposable income account

shows how households, general government and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) distribute their disposable income between final consumption expenditures and saving.

Volume of industrial production

is measured as a grand total of volumes related to the output produced, industrial work and services done by industrial organizations (including independent units). Output data are given at current prices excluding value added and excise taxes. Output produced from the customer’s raw materials (for which producing organization doesn’t pay) is included in the industrial output at current prices,excluding the value of raw materials.

Volume of passenger transportation

includes number of passengers actually carried by transport facilities (including the passengers enjoying the rights of free of charge traffic).

Volume of pollutants captured (detoxified)

includes all types of pollutants captured (detoxified) by dust-arresting (gas-cleaning) plants out of the total volume of pollutants emitted by stationary sources.

Volume of services

reflects the volume of various types of rendered services and is registered for the period during which the services are rendered, regardless of payment, without value-added and similar (indirect) taxes.
