2 Statistical presentation
2.1 Data description The purpose of the 'zoo' statistical product is to provide with annual information on the zoo's activity. It includes general information on the area occupied by the zoo, the number of employees, visitors, activities carried out, excursions and eco-education classes. Type composition and number of animals to be diemonstrated are described according to the types of animals, according to the registration in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia. The movement of animals includes types and the number of animals born, acquired, with other outcome, decline, defect in the reference year. It also shows financial revenues and expenses of statistical product.

2.4 Statistical concepts and definitions The description of the area of the zoo includes the surface of the whole area, the surface of the structures intended for animals, from which the surface of the structures intended for wintering of animals is separated.
The number of key employees includes the number of the key staff of the zoo.
The number of visitors includes the number of people who visit zoo, the number of free visitors within the framework of the events held at zoo is separated from them.
The number of excursions describes the number of excursions organized by the zoo in the reporting year, as well as by other institutions with the support of the zoo staff, from which the excursions organized for schoolchildren are separated.
The number of eco-education classes includes the number of eco-education classes organized by the zoo in the reporting year and the number of students in them.
The number of animals to be demonstrated by types does not take into account the breeding of animals intended for fodder. Amphibians, reptiles, mammals, fishes, birds and invertebrates are distinguished from the total number of animals. Predators, ungulates, primates and other mammals are separated from the total number of mammals.
The number of available animal types and their heads is separated from the number of animal types and their heads. registered in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia, at the end of the year. The followings are separated from the total financial expenses:

Costs for non-material services include payments for professional training of employees, rent payments for buildings, machines and equipment, payments for research and experimental work, financial, legal, guard y and fire services, representation, advertisement, license, certification costs, etc.
Remuneration of work and other costs equal to itinclude salary calculated for all work actually performed by all employees (including in combination with other organizations, such as employees under a civil law contract) during the reporting period, including compensations, salary supplements and bonuses.
Costs of repair, equipment and property procurement include costs for the acquisition and capital repair of buildings, as well as cars and equipment implemented by the zoo.

3.1 Source data The main source of the indicators’ compilation is Yerevan Zoo.

3.3 Data collection The collection of statistical information is implemented by Armstat.
3.4 Data validation The collected information is prepared for publication after arithmetical and logical verification. There are methodical guidelines and instruction necessary for the verification of information (Armenian).

3.6 Adjustment The main source of the indicators’ compilation is the data collected directly from the respondent through statistical report. The methodological requirements for receiving indicators are strictly followed during the whole process of receiving them according to the pre-defined classifications, methodological guidelines, instructions for filling in the statistical report forms. The source of inaccuracies during the observation could be the incomplete or full absence of responses by information provider, as well as the use of incorrect methodology for calculating indicators.In case of changes or adjustments to the information provided by statistical information provider, the indicators already published by Armstat are subject to the relevant changes and adjustments following the national and international standards.

5.1 User needs The main users of statistical information are public administration bodies, local self-government bodies, public, scientific-educational organizations, mass media, society in general, international organizations, etc. Zoo product 's indicators are used to develop strategies in the relevant field, to solve strategic issues, to develop sphere policies, to determine development trends etc,
5.2 User satisfaction Users needs are studied through discussions, consultations, comments on draft statistical programs, and through the 'User Satisfaction Survey' questionnaire available on Armstat website.
